API 5L is a specification developed by the American Petroleum Institute (API) that covers seamless and welded steel line pipes. These pipes are used primarily for the transportation of oil and gas in the pipeline industry.
Specifications and Grades
Grades: API 5L pipes come in various grades such as Grade A, B, X42, X52, X60, X65, X70, and X80, which denote different strength levels.
Types: Includes PSL1 (Product Specification Level 1) and PSL2 (Product Specification Level 2), with PSL2 having more stringent requirements for chemical composition, mechanical properties, and testing.
