On September 5th, President Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan met with Chen Min’er, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, in Tashkent. Mirziyoyev stated that China is a close and reliable friend, and expressed gratitude to China for its strong support in the construction of the “New Uzbekistan”. Chen Min’er stated that Tianjin will further deepen cooperation with Uzbekistan in the fields of trade and investment, education, science and technology, culture, and tourism, and enhance exchanges between sister cities to serve the development of the bilateral relationship.
As one of the important projects under the “Belt and Road” initiative, the 500MW photovoltaic power station in Pop district, Namangan region, Uzbekistan, is the latest achievement of cooperation between China and Uzbekistan in the field of clean energy. The project was personally announced by President Mirziyoyev, and Prime Minister Aripov of Uzbekistan also visited the project site to provide guidance and highly praised the Chinese enterprises.
The project adheres to the concept of ecological development and implements Chinese craftsmanship quality. The orderly and recyclable pile and support system, using the world’s most advanced ecological system technology, has been continuously strengthened in structural design to withstand extreme weather conditions such as 15-level gusts. The project’s planning and construction always prioritize ecological and environmental protection, making every effort to protect the existing ecosystem. Additionally, through cooperation with Tsinghua University and the Uzbekistan Academy of Sciences, the project aims to improve the ecological environment of the project site during construction.
The promotion and advancement of the project have been mainly driven by Tianjin enterprises. China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation’s Tianjin branch organized numerous Tianjin enterprises to serve the project, Tianjin 11th Design & Research Institute Group Co., Ltd. is responsible for project design and construction, Tianjin TCL Centralized Operation Co., Ltd. is responsible for the production of photovoltaic components, Tianjin 11th International Trade Co., Ltd. is responsible for material trade, Tianjin Youfa Group is responsible for the production of solar support piles, and Tianjin Huasong Power Group’s Tianjin branch is responsible for the outgoing lines, while Tianjin Ke’an is responsible for mechanical equipment, and so on.
